Hiro Saito is assistant professor of sociology at Singapore Management University. He earned a BA from International Christian University and a PhD from the University of Michigan. Previously, he taught sociology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and held postdoctoral fellowships at the Institute of Social Science at the University of Tokyo and the Program on US-Japan Relations at Harvard University. His research on collective memory, nationalism, and cosmopolitanism has appeared in the leading journals of his field, including Sociological Theory, Global Networks, and Cultural Sociology.
