This chapter constitutes a comprehensive literature review in Hmong American studies. It covers books, articles, anthologies, and other academic literature in a variety of topics; including: health and medicine, education, gender, family life and relationships, oral and family histories, religious adaptation, Hmong American cultural consumption and production, and socioeconomic incorporation and race relations studies. The chapter also provides additional resources of Hmong American research dating back to the late 1970s, such as bibliographies, dictionaries, and even library collections. In addition, the chapter also discusses other areas in greater need of research attention, as well as the scope of Hmong American studies within the larger field of Asian American studies.
